The third-generation Chevrolet Corvette (C3) was produced for the 1968-1982 model years and set sales records with a high-water mark of 53,807 in the 1979 model year. While the 1968-1974 versions have already seen a spike in the collector market, later models offer a lot a car for the dollar. This beautiful Silver 1976 Corvette is a prime example of a low-mile survivor that is getting harder to find by the day. The owner reports the odometer reading at 37,065 as actual and by the look of the beautiful red leather interior, it is hard to argue the point. 1976 models featured steel floor panels that weighed less than the previous fiberglass floor and reduced interior noise levels. Optional cast aluminum wheels were finally made available at a cost of $299. Only 15% of 1976 models were ordered equipped with this new option that would become a hallmark of the Corvette look in later years. The original base L-48 engine has been replaced by a rebuilt 1970 350 cid V8 with 1,500 miles on the build mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. Additional upgrades include a new aluminum radiator, water pump, brakes and exhaust. The AC components have all been replaced and cruise control added. Original options include AM/FM radio, power brakes, power windows, tilt wheel and anti-theft system. This sharp Silver/Red Corvette is located at our Milwaukee showroom.
